What you can do with it

Web Scraper Lite is built for quick, one-off exports from the page you are looking at, not for configuring a crawler.

Export a website table to Excel

CSV is saved as UTF-8 with BOM, so accented, Chinese and Japanese text opens correctly in Excel, WPS and Numbers.

Paste a web table into Google Sheets

Copy puts the table on your clipboard as tab-separated values. Paste it into Sheets and every value lands in its own cell.

Scrape product grids and search results

Repeating card lists built from divs, such as products, listings and directories, become rows and columns automatically.

Collect a table across several pages

It clicks "Next" or the page numbers for you and merges the rows. The free plan collects up to 5 pages per run.

Export admin-panel and dashboard tables

Works on logged-in pages and common admin UI tables. Trim whitespace, remove duplicate rows and keep only the columns you need.

How it works

Three steps, no configuration.

  1. Open a page with a table or list.
Any regular http or https webpage.
  2. Click the Web Scraper Lite icon.
The side panel opens and lists every table and list on the page.
  3. Pick one, then Export CSV or Copy.
The selection is highlighted on the page so you know exactly what you are exporting.

What it detects

Detection is automatic. If a pager is not recognized, you can point at the "Next" button yourself.

Tables and grids

  • Standard HTML tables, including merged cells (colspan / rowspan)
  • Tables with a separate fixed header
  • ARIA grids: role="grid", "table", "treegrid"
  • AG Grid, MUI DataGrid, react-table, React Virtualized, Element Plus Table V2, vxe-table

Lists

  • Product and listing grids
  • Search results
  • Directories and profile lists
  • Any repeating card layout built from divs

Pagination

  • "Next" buttons and numbered pages
  • Element UI, Ant Design and iView pagers
  • Manual "Pick next button" fallback
  • Adjustable delay between pages (0.5–10 s)

Web Scraper Lite vs. other ways to get a table off a webpage

Pick the tool that fits the job. For scheduled crawls of thousands of pages, a rule-based scraper or a scraping API is the better choice.

Frequently asked questions

How do I export a table from a website to Excel?

Install Web Scraper Lite, open the page, click the extension icon, select the table in the side panel and click Export CSV. Double-click the file to open it in Excel. Because the CSV is UTF-8 with BOM, non-English text is not garbled.

How do I copy a table from a webpage into Google Sheets?

Select the table and click Copy. The data is copied as tab-separated values, so pasting into Google Sheets puts every value in its own cell. You can also import the CSV with File → Import.

Do I need to write rules, selectors or XPath?

No. Tables, data grids and repeating lists are detected automatically when you open the side panel.

Can it extract a table that spans multiple pages?

Yes. It clicks "Next" buttons or numbered page links and merges the rows. The free plan collects up to 5 pages per run, up to 100,000 rows.

Does it work on pages that require a login?

Yes. It reads the page you are already viewing in your own browser, so dashboards and other logged-in pages work. Server-side tools such as Google Sheets IMPORTHTML cannot access those pages.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. Parsing, preview and file generation all happen locally in the browser. The extension has no servers and no analytics. See the privacy policy.

Why does Chrome say the extension can read data on websites?

To find tables, the extension has to read the page you are on. It only reads a page when you use it in the side panel, and nothing is sent anywhere.

Is Web Scraper Lite free?

Yes. CSV export, copy, cleanup, column selection and 5-page collection are free. Excel (.xlsx) export and unlimited pages are planned for a future Pro version.

What doesn't it do yet?

Tables inside iframes are not detected, infinite-scroll and "Load more" lists are not collected automatically, and it does not run on chrome:// pages, the Chrome Web Store or PDF files.
